Dogpatch Labs is one of Europe’s leading tech hubs fostering entrepreneurship for start-ups, founded with the mission of making Ireland a world-class place to found a start-up. We think that more of the best companies in the world should be started in Ireland. Our alumni include Intercom (valued at $1.6 billion) and our space is the global headquarters for CoderDojo.

We run NDRC, which is a founder-focused, entrepreneur-led start-up accelerator. Mentors on the accelerator include some of Ireland’s most successful founders, who have founded businesses worth over €5 billion in aggregate. Along with mentors, we work in partnership with Ireland’s top regional innovation hubs (PorterShed, Republic of Work and RDI Hub) and VC funds (ACT, Atlantic Bridge, Delta, Frontline).

About First Fridays for Start-ups

First Fridays for Start-ups is Ireland’s largest monthly start-up ecosystem event, managed by Dogpatch Labs and delivered all across Ireland by the Irish Tech Hub Network. It’s a platform for the entire start-up ecosystem to come together on a monthly basis, enabling start-ups to learn, connect and grow.

Every month we deliver high energy, high impact virtual event, hosted from one of Ireland’s six largest start-up hubs - Portershed (Galway), RDI Hub (Kerry), Republic of Work (Cork), Ludgate Hub (Skibbereen), Ormeau Baths (Belfast) and Dogpatch Labs (Dublin). Each event consists of four key sessions that anyone can attend: Welcome, Mentor, Educate, Inspire.

We bring together the world’s biggest tech companies to support indigenous Irish technology start-ups. Already Google, HubSpot, Microsoft, Salesforce and Logitech have signed up to support, with more partners in the works.

Programme Associate

As a Programme Associate, you will report to the First Fridays for Start-ups Programme Director on delivering the First Fridays event every month.

Your work will be focused on the monthly delivery of Ireland’s largest start-up ecosystem event, and your day-to-day could involve anything from scouting for high-impact guest speakers, scheduling & organising mentor training workshops and liaising with various teams within Dogpatch as well as the teams at our partner hubs and corporate partners to ensure that everyone knows their role and is kept up to date with progress.

We'll support your growth with career coaching and mentorship, and ensure that your responsibilities and opportunities rise with your ability. You’ll work with great teammates, help build a start-up ecosystem, and most importantly, you’ll get to do work that is both meaningful and challenging.


  • Work closely with the Programme Director to develop and deliver Dogpatch Lab’s monthly flagship event.
  • Deliver a world-class experience to all participants: founders, mentors, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Manage tight deadlines and work on multiple events simultaneously. You’ll regularly be following up on last month’s event, working on this month’s event and planning for future events all at the same time.
  • Work closely with the regional partners to ensure the delivery of successful events across Ireland.
  • Responsible for the logistics, operations, administration, scheduling and planning for the running of our mentor training program.
  • Support the creation of content and presentations to be used as assets for the events as well as for internal and external purposes.
  • Create templates and playbooks to streamline actions and decision making.

What You’ll Work On

  • Monthly Events: Every month you’ll work to deliver our flagship event to a world-class standard.
  • Mentor Support & Engagement: At the core of our events are our mentors; you’ll ensure that taking part in First Fridays for Start-ups is an awesome experience for them.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Events Team: You’ll work closely with the core marketing team to collate and deliver event information to meet production deadlines as required.
  • Diversity & Inclusion: We want to ensure that First Fridays for Start-ups is an event for all backgrounds and mindsets. You’ll constantly strive to keep the opportunity for all at the centre of all First Friday's activities, coming up with processes and initiatives that make it a truly inclusive event.

Who are you?

  • You’re passionate about start-ups, innovation, and connecting with others.
  • You’re a team player who enjoys collaborative work and brings a positive attitude to any task. You thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You’re hyper organised; able to quickly distil conversations and brainstorming sessions into concrete actions, deliverables and deadlines.
  • You have experience in Event Management, Project Management or an obsessive passion for organisation.
  • You have great communication skills and can work closely with people. You're comfortable leading meetings and calls with confidence and authority
  • You’re a generalist, happy to chip in wherever you’re needed.
  • You’re able to work with technology and tools. You don’t need to code.
  • You ask or learn to ask the right questions.
  • You’re a lifelong learner who engages in the discourse around technology, start-ups, entrepreneurship, and venture capital.


  • Contract: Full-time, eight months fixed term
  • Location of Duties: Dogpatch Labs, The CHQ Building, Dublin 1.
