About the Role
A fantastic opportunity to gain valuable career experience with an innovative and forward thinking company! Reporting to the Events Manager, the Event & AV (Audio & Video) Associate successfully drives events in all assets to create unique experiences. You have the ability to manage and maintain the highest standards of excellent service with events, from the planning to the execution, both in-person and online, by taking active participation and providing AV support when needed. The role involves a high-level of coordination and collaboration with the Event Executive & AV Specialist as well as the Community Associates.
The ideal candidate will have proven excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. You already have some experience in events and are looking to apply your skills in a fast-paced and innovative startup environment.

Working Hours
The successful candidate will be required to work on-site full-time. Normal working hours are 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday, however in the lead up to an event the role will include some daytime, evening and, very occasionally, weekend work.
Responsibilities
Event Management
- Assist the Events Manager at all stages of the events and projects management from proposal right through to their delivery (Event Planning, Finances, Catering, AV, Furniture & Equipment Hire, etc.)
- Gain full-knowledge of event space layout, capabilities, storage locations of all event assets
- Register and welcome guests on arrival upon an event when needed
- Support customers before and during the event, act as their problem solver and manage their expectations
- Arrange event space setup and takedown including all needs for seating, staging
- Receive deliveries and direct vendors for events from rental companies, caterers
- Monitor and proactively respond to upcoming internal and external inquiries
- Manage administrative tasks and follow-ups.
AV Support
- Preparation, organisation, set-up and take down of AV equipment
- Assist the AV specialist with the maintenance and control of the equipment
- Participate in the planning of AV requirements
- Upload holding slides to screens for events and where required
- Knowledge of all AV equipment eg. ability to connect users laptops to a screen or multiple
- Ad Hoc: Contribute to Dogpatch Labs internal AV training

Skills & Experience
To apply, you must have basic knowledge of AV equipment and an understanding of how to manage an event.
- Work Experience
- A first event management experience, including prior working experience
- Some AV project experience
- Customer service or sales experience is a plus
- Organisation & Project Management
- Skilled in project management and ability to multitask
- Customer-service oriented
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate to a variety of audience
- Technology
- Aware of modern technology platforms, and ability to learn quickly if needed (Zoom, Slack, Eventbrite, Google Docs & Slides, Google Meet, etc)
- PC, MAC and iOS knowledge and ability to troubleshoot basic issues
- Live event sound (microphones, laptops, tablets) and visual mixing knowledge to produce video conferencing and hybrid event
- Competence in the use and support of a range of AV software & hardware products (OBS …)
