About the Role

At Dogpatch Labs, we believe brick and mortar retail is evolving, not dying. And we want to shape the future of the industry. We want to lower the barrier to entry to physical retail for startups, give customers a space to explore the newest innovations, and create a testbed to validate the technologies and concepts that will define the future of retail. We have a globally-unique opportunity to do so, as a startup hub located in a high-footfall retail mall.

We are opening an experimental retail concept store to interactively showcase the most cutting-edge startup products from Ireland and around the world. As Retail Innovation Associate, you will help shape and deliver this first-of-its-kind retail experience. You will help run the daily operations of the retail store and optimize the in-store experience. You will facilitate product demos for customers and discuss the project, the startups, and Dogpatch Labs.

You will help manage the relationships with the startups deployed in the store. You will assist the startups to use the data-collected in-store to test and validate their products. You will help recruit and deploy the newest and most exciting retail startups from around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Create meaningful customer experiences and assist visitors through the discovery and purchase process.
  • Maintain an expert-level knowledge of all products and startups in the store as well as industry trends.
  • Be able to speak to Dogpatch and their partners’ vision and mission statement with visitors.
  • Convert store from retail space to events/workshop space.
  • Manage in-store inventory and restock products.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and visual presentation.
  • Review the data collected in-store to optimize the retail experience.
  • Assist in the recruitment of exciting new startup products to sell in our store.
  • Manage the relationships with the startups that are deployed in our store.

    • You have an ability to drive projects forward
    • You’re smart - you learn quickly and can adapt well to rapidly changing environments
    • 1+ years experience in a customer-facing role

      • You understand strategy - and can interpret it from an operations perspective
      • You’re excited about startups and emerging technology
      • Basic knowledge and familiarity with the Irish startup ecosystem
      • Basic knowledge and familiarity with IoT technologies

          Terms

          • This role is a six-month contract with the opportunity to continue on a long-term contract after six-months.
          • The role is based at our retail store in the CHQ Building, Custom House Quay, Dublin 1
          • Hours: 11am - 4pm, 2-5 days per week
          • Start date: February 2020
