About The Role

Innovation Programme Manager (Permanent, full-time)

We are looking to hire an Innovation Programme Manager to join our team. The Innovation Programme Manager will initially work as part of our Innovation team, working closely with the Innovation Director to deliver innovation programmes (incubators and accelerators) to large corporates and connect them with the wider start-up ecosystem. Your day-to-day could involve anything from scouting mentors to help support incubator and accelerator teams, preparing client-facing presentations to leading workshops and events. You’ll work with great teammates and most importantly, you’ll get to do work that is both meaningful and challenging.

  • Work closely with the Innovation Director on all Innovation Programmes including incubators and accelerators.
  • Directly support the Innovation Director on all programme deliverables including:
    • Oversee the logistics, operations, administration, scheduling and planning of innovation programmes
    • Develop the curriculum of incubator and accelerator programmes using the latest startup methodologies
    • Coordinate events and workshops for these programmes including sourcing mentors and guest speakers
    • Create meaningful client presentations and project managing ad-hoc projects
    • Create templates and playbooks to streamline actions and decision making
    • Assist the incubator and accelerator startup teams with their deliverables including pitch scripts, pitch decks and business plans
  • Manage the Innovation Programme Associate to deliver all innovation programmes.
  • Business Development - assist the innovation team to create presentations for prospective corporate partners.

What You’ll Work On

  • Ideation and Strategy: Help corporates define their innovation strategy and stay ahead of the curve by connecting them with leading entrepreneurs and startups to figure out what the future looks like.
  • Exploring Solutions: Once the strategy is defined, incubators and accelerators are a great way to explore problems and find unobvious solutions in short time frames. Working with or like startups, teams are put through their paces to develop investment ready propositions.
    • Accelerators connect the corporate partner with visionary entrepreneurs to develop breakthrough solutions, set up pilots and partnerships, and transform their company culture.
    • Incubators help the corporate partner develop their staff ideas into future revenue streams by showing internal teams how to work like startups to develop their ideas into commercially viable business propositions over the course of 3 months.
  • Implementation: Help the corporate partner bring their ideas to life using lessons learned from startups. We help them build a team, design and develop products, validate them and get them launched. From UX, advertising, marketing and fundraising, we provide everything they need to get their idea up and running.
  • Other Projects: We regularly test out new programmes and business lines. You might help collaborate with a university, set up a new innovation programme or create presentations for prospective corporate partners.

Who You Are:

  • 3 years experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. You may have run your own startup or worked for a tech company previously.
  • You’re passionate about startups and innovation or open to learning!
  • You will have a knowledge and/or interest in the tech/energy/sustainability/startup world.
  • You’re highly organised and strong in multi-tasking, planning, priority setting and execution.
  • You know how to manage projects effectively and engage people to meet milestones.
  • You’re a generalist with strong commercial acumen, happy to chip in wherever you’re needed.
  • You’re self-motivated, independently driven and thrive in dynamic and fast-paced environments with a constant curiosity and a desire to learn new things.
  • You’re a strategic thinker with the ability to synthesize research and ideas into meaningful and powerful presentations.
  • You ask, or learn to ask the right questions.
  • You’re a team player who enjoys collaborative work and brings a positive attitude to any task.
  • You have great communication skills and can work closely with people.
